I have won the lottery! The entry lottery for the NYC Half Marathon, presented by Nike, taking place July 27, 2008. I'll be among 15,000 other runners from across the continent and around the world.

This is a very exciting race. I ran it two years ago (the first year it was run) and though it started in the rain, it was a very strong run for me. I'm looking forward to running it this year.

Is anybody else participating in this event? Anybody want to just come out and cheer? Nike sponsors several "cheering sections", but you are best situated at the 7th ave exit from Central Park or perhaps somewhere along the West Side Highway.

Oh, and in fact, my avitar is a pic of me at the end of that first NYC Half Marathon!
Congrats on the entry, Chris!

I'm not running the NYC Half, but I'd have a better chance at finishing that one than the big race in the Fall. I'm pretty sure my body cannot take a full marathon...at least not yet. As of now I'm in a running group, so hopefully I can be in some sort of shape by then. Until then, we'll be out there cheering you on!
Well, the half-marathon is this weekend. And I'm IVs. My training has not been good this past month. This should be a very interesting race.

Cris
Be careful, Chris. Let us know how it goes.
Okay, I'm not in the NYC Half Marathon this year, but a couple of Team Boomer members are! What does everyone think of putting together a Team Boomer cheering section?
