Profile Information

About Me:
Oh where to begin...I grew up on a dairy farm just outside of a small town in MN with my four older sisters and my mom and dad. I'm a girl whose always loved the outdoors. I love 4-wheeling, camping, and going up to Duluth, MN and looking at all that amazing scenery. Besides being outdoors I love playing sports and/or any activity where I can be competitive, especially volleyball. I love joking around with people who have the same sarcastic humor as I do which usually includes my dad and my sister Kayla [who also has CF]. I'm currently going to school at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND for Radiologic Sciences and am finishing up my 2-year internship in St. Cloud, MN and will finally graduate with my BA in August! Although CF has been an unending battle, Christ has helped me overcome various obstacles and live my life with joy and anticipation for the future he has in store for me.

I was very fortunate to be diagnosed with CF early at just 6weeks. My older sister Kayla, also had CF so the doctors suggested to my parents I had a sweat test performed. It came back positive and I was finally diagnosed.

I do vest therapy, exercise, nebulizer treatments to help clear up any infections that threaten my lungs. I was diagnosed with CF-related diabetes my freshman year of college and am currently taking insulin to keep all of that in check. I probably spend a little over an hour each day for my treatments but consider it time well spent!

That's too bad! If you need a break, stop on by during the walk and visit. Usually there are several people who remain at the shelter to volunteer or visit.

There's a walk in Bemidji on May 17th, Bismarck June 7th -- Glencoe, MN May 31 and Duluth sometime in September.

Afghan family, including six children, killed in NATO air strike

KABUL - Eight civilians in one family, including six children, were killed in a NATO air strike after a field operation in Paktia province, local government officials told NBC News.

The incident took place at 8pm on Saturday in the Garda Serrai district, according the Paktia government spokesman Rohullah Samoon.

They were all members of one family, he said.
