About Me:
We recently lost our brother-in-law (age 44) to CF and as a runner I would like to find ways to raise money for this horrible disease. My goal is to raise money to run in NYC marathon in November 2009, the month I turn 40. Duane was an inspiration and lived life everyday with grace, love and humor and I intend to run in his honor.

I am also a runner and 51 with CF - the exercise has kept me going at 51...
You should run for Team Boomer next year! We have over 20 people running for Team Boomer in the ING 2008 NYC Marathon

There are not many CF runs out there... Most people are just running for the cause in other races and doing it for Team Boomer or CF Foundation and getting sponsors

Jerry, you seem like such an inspiration. To be 51 and living with this disease and to also be a runner is amazing. May I ask you, have you had a lung transplant? At one time my brother-in-law was too healthy to get one and then before he died he was just too sick to get one although we were praying for him to get strong enough. I hope that is not too personal. Debbie Hamlin

Afghan family, including six children, killed in NATO air strike

KABUL - Eight civilians in one family, including six children, were killed in a NATO air strike after a field operation in Paktia province, local government officials told NBC News.

The incident took place at 8pm on Saturday in the Garda Serrai district, according the Paktia government spokesman Rohullah Samoon.

They were all members of one family, he said.

NATO said told NBC News it was taking the reports of the incident seriously and was investigating.
