About Me:
I have been an RN for 21 years working mainly in psych. during college I was hospitalized on an adolescent medical floor and worked there for 6 months after graduation. This was the floor for the adolescent and young adult clients with cystic fibrosis, and there upbeat attitude and willingness to make the most of theri lives always shocked me and taught me valuable lessons. Issues that children with CF never had a chance to face are now prominent. One patient was getting married, one was entering college, and they just took theri clean-outs in stride. Independence was encouraged although they knew that once they were really sick, the nurses would do everything in theri power to help them and keep them comfortable. The primary and secondary nurses often stayed around the clock when death was imminent.

Afghan family, including six children, killed in NATO air strike

KABUL - Eight civilians in one family, including six children, were killed in a NATO air strike after a field operation in Paktia province, local government officials told NBC News.

The incident took place at 8pm on Saturday in the Garda Serrai district, according the Paktia government spokesman Rohullah Samoon.

They were all members of one family, he said.

NATO said told NBC News it was taking the reports of the incident seriously and was investigating.
