Friday & Saturday
Friday a nice run late afternoon on the Spring Lake-Belmar boards with a strong south wind which was in my face on the way back. Easy 6 miles around 7.35 pace..... sunny and 73 degrees....
Saturday am, now that I have my Lactate threshold developed to where I need it for the marathon, I ran some V02 work.
1 mile warm up at track in temps in the low 60's and strong WSW wind - 6.15am arrival at track, commenced interval of a mile at 7.00am, smooth 5.45 mile, then full recovery then a 2 mile in 5.50-5.51....
11.29 total.... building towards my sub 18.00 min 5k.... I will try to close the chapter on that prior to the New York marathon. I will work some light LT work too as things wind down toward the marathon.
Tomorrow is the LBI 18 miler as a dress rehearsal toward the NYM. The goal is to run right at or around marathon goal pace.... 6 miles on the day today.
