Saturday track October 24th

Temps in the 60's strong wind out of the south at 18mph and quite humid, in the 85% range. Overcast but it was not raining and overall quite pleasant.
On the menu was a pre marathon prep. Type workout.
Overall 10 miles with warm up and cooldown and including recoveries. 400 recovery between all intervals to get the distance in I wanted on the day.
Mile at 7 min pace, the pace I plan to run the first half of the marathon at. Actual 6.57 (felt very comfortable, actually had to ease back a little so not to go too fast.
1200 at 6.43 min pace, the pace I plan to run the second half of the marathon at. Actual 5.02 (6.45 pace, felt extremely comfortable).
800 at a 5k type effort, Actual 2.51 (5.44 type pace) felt pretty good
400 in 79 started too quick with the tailwind and was not as relaxed as the 79 that I started my 5,000 time trial with this past Tuesday/
400 in 80 backed off the first lap and ran this much better but again, not as fresh as Tuesday but the conditions were not as good either.
800 in 2.49 ran the first lap in an 86 and came back in an 83, did not feel special through 500 meters but ran the last 300 much better and much more relaxed; almost like things just 'kicked in' at that point..
1200 in 4.55 - again this was supposed to be 6.43 min pace, the pace I plan to run the second half of the marathon and this was the most relaxed I felt all day, with an actual of 6.36 pace which was so easy, yet too fast.
Mile in 6.52 - Again this was supposed to be at 7 min pace, the pace I plan to run the first half of the marathon at. I felt better and better as the mile went on and the actual was a 6.52 which by coincidence is the exact actual pace that I need to average per mile next Sunday so hopefully that is a good sign ~!
I left track right away to take the boys to soccer and ran a 2k cooldown at the Sea Girt Army camp which felt good to bring to an end an excellent workout and 10 miles total on the day ! Recovery laps were generally all under 2.30 mins.
