As training winds down for me and for all the runners running on Sunday in New York, today called for a 4 miler. Overcast, mid 50;s, wind out of the NE at about 10mph.. The plan was to run easy for the majority of the run with about mile at marathon effort- the conditions led to faster paces than I planned but the effort was very easy. 2 miles at 7 min pace followed by 2 miles at 6.15 pace.... Time now to stretch and relax. The run felt great and I am looking forward to Sunday. Today's run pretty much brought the training for New York '09 to a close....Off tomorrow and a light pre race workout Saturday.
I would like to wish all members of Team Boomer the very best of success on Sunday and congratulate everyone on their efforts on behalf of the Boomer Esiason Foundation and their battle to overcome Cystic Fibrosis.
